Clarence Leon Morgan, age 90, of Cumming passed away Friday, October 2, 2015. A veteran of the U.S. Army, Clarence served at Okinawa, Japan in World War II. He retired from the Indianapolis General Motors as a Stock Chaser after which he moved to Cumming in 1986, making Georgia his family's home. He was a deacon at Grace Memorial Baptist and Thompson Road Baptist Church in Indianapolis. In Georgia, he was a member of John's Creek Baptist Church. Clarence was a loving husband, father, and a faithful and devout Christian. He married Neva Allene Helm on May 31, 1947 and, together, they celebrated 67 anniversaries prior to her death on June 10, 2014. In addition to his wife, he is preceded in death by his parents, Leamon and Beulah Morgan and his siblings, Sewell Morgan, Cordia Harmon and Lanell Smith. Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, Roger and Sue Morgan, Richard and Lynn Morgan; grandchildren, Julie (Jamie) Norman, David Lynn Pollard, Dalton Pollard; great grandchildren, Abigail Norman and Jack Norman. Funeral services will be held Sunday, October 4, at 3:00 p.m. at the Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David White and Rev. Brian Rhoades officiating. Interment will follow at Sawnee View Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m., Saturday from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. and Sunday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Ingram Funeral Home & Crematory, Cumming, Georgia is in charge of arrangements.
