John Morgan Goforth, Jr.

July 9, 1941 -- May 6, 2017

John Morgan Goforth, Jr. (Junior) went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at 3 AM at St. Thomas West Hospital, Nashville, TN. John was preceded in death by his wife of almost 48 years, Betty, and is holding her hand with a smile today; he was also predeceased by, Sam Walden (brother-in-law) and George Williams (son-in-law). He is survived by his children, Pam Williams, Jeffrey Goforth, Jennifer Jordan and was very proud of his six grandchildren: Aaron Williams, Megan Goforth, Lissa Goforth, Mollie Goforth, Nicholas Emerton and Zachary Jordan; one great grandchild, "Little" George Turner Williams; sister, Frances Walden; brother, Steve (Sheri) Goforth
John attended Vine Church of Christ in Wilson County and was a beloved member. He graduated from the Class of 1959 at Central High School in Murfreesboro and went on to serve in the United States Navy and then retired from Metro Nashville Government as an environmental engineer.
Services will be conducted on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at Sellars Funeral Home, 313 West Baddour Parkway, Lebanon, TN at 10:00 AM with Randy Ward presiding. Visitation will be Monday, May 8, 2017 from 4-8 PM. Interment will be in Fiske Cemetery following the ceremony for the family in Hilham, TN.
