"... He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away. And he who was seated on the throne said, 'Behold, I am making all things new.' " Revelation 21:4-5a. Made new on March 23, 2016, Bobbie Lee Kautz Reed, age 81, a longtime resident of Baton Rouge, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, at The Crossing at Clarity Hospice. Bobbie, who was loved by so many, was a remarkable lady with a beautiful and indomitable spirit. She was born December 27, 1934, in Taylor, Texas, the daughter and only child of Robert and Katie Lee Kautz. Her grandmother, Mrs. B.K. McCutcheon, was an important part of her family life during her formative years. She met her husband, Kenneth R. Reed, while still in her senior year of high school. They were married December 27, 1952, at First United Methodist Church in Taylor, Texas, and moved to Waxahachie, Texas, while Ken attended Seminary in Dallas, Texas. While living in Fort Worth, Texas, she attended and graduated from Texas Wesleyan University with a degree in Elementary Education. She had a brief career as an elementary school teacher before starting her lifetime career as a supportive ministerial spouse and mother of two wonderful children. As an accomplished pianist, she occasionally taught piano and played the organ and piano at Ken's churches. A wonderful helpmate to her husband, they served congregations over two states for a period of 64 years. In the last several years, her main passion was her home and her children and grandchildren. Bobbie was one of elegance and style and had a knack and love for decorating. She was a talented artist, loved to garden, enjoyed cooking, hosting parties, and traveling with her family and husband, Ken. Bobbie is preceded in death by her son, Randall, and her parents Bob and Katie Lee Kautz, of Taylor, Texas.
