Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Fayetteville Street Baptist Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. Adrian Pugh officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery.
He was a native of Guilford County, a World War II U.S. Army veteran and retired from Union Carbide of Asheboro.
Surviving are wife, Bertha R. Maness; daughters, Jean Cooper of Asheboro, Lyndia Duncan of Cabot, Ark.; son, Roger Maness of Star; 15 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.
The family will be at Pugh Funeral Home, Asheboro, 7-9 p.m. Thursday.
