Charles Nail was the first mayor of Moore, Oklahoma, and the town physician. He was often paid in chickens. Because Charles & Sarah did not have any more children, yet they had a big house, they wrote back to Drake's Creek, Arkansas for relatives to stay in the house, boys on one side upstairs and girls on the other so that they could get beyond the 8th grade in their education. After attending Moore High, many went on the interurban to Norman, Oklahoma attending Oklahoma University.
