Youngest of the nine children born to Zelotes Beal & Sarah Burrell.

He married first to Sally (Sarah) D Thompson on September 20th, 1835 (no record found), with whom he had three children: Andrew J, Marion A & Walter M (10 Aug 1842- 17 June 1876 Rockland, MA, not on FAG). According to the "History of Abington" (see photo) his wife Sally died on 19 May 1844, leaving him with 3 small children. Marion was to die 1 1/2 years later.

Sally's marker (no dates?) includes the inscription 27 Yrs 3 mos & 24 days which would give her a DOB of 26 Jan 1817 but I find no Massachusetts birth records for a Sally or Sarah Thompson. No death record has been found either.

Samuel remarried on Nobember 14th, 1850 in Abington to Mary Gleason. The couple had no children of their own.
