Kathryn J. Gill, 69, of Carbondale, died Wednesday at Carbondale Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center. Her husband is Frederick Gill.

Born in Carbondale, daughter of the late Charles and Elizabeth Corey Geuther, she fought MS for 40 years. and cancer and dementia in recent years, proving to be a small yet fierce woman in her health battles. Kathryn was a loving wife, mother and grandmother whose life centered around her husband, children and grandchildren. She loved music, taking pictures, crocheting, camping and growing up on a farm, and was a graduate of Forest City High School. She and her husband celebrated their 50th anniversary Feb. 4. She was so proud of that.

The family thanks Carbondale Nursing Home staff and Traditional Home Health and Hospice for their care.

Also surviving are a son, Kenneth Gill, Eynon; a daughter, Tammy Connor, Carbondale; grandchildren, Bryanna and Megan Gill, Eynon; Garrett and Gavin Connor, Carbondale; son-in-law, Jonathan Connor, Carbondale; and sisters, Carol Kilmer, Orlando, Fla.; Shirley Fischer, Woodland, Calif.; and Esther Kutch, Carbondale.

She was also preceded in death by a son, Frederick Jr.; a brother, Robert Geuther; and sister, Elaine Quigley.

The funeral will be Monday from Lawrence A. Gabriel Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 74 N. Main St., Carbondale, with a prayer service at 10 a.m. in the funeral home by the Rev. Donald Perry, Carbondale United Methodist Church. Interment, Canaan Corners, Waymart.
