Thomas Aaron Ables, age 75, of Paris, departed this life Tuesday morning, May 2, 2017 at Stillhouse Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center. He was born December 1, 1941 in Lamar County, Texas to Aaron and Evelyn Roberts Ables.

He was a graduate of Mineral County High School, Hawthorne, Nevada and received a bachelor of arts in economics from East Central Oklahoma State University in Ada, Oklahoma. He also received the professional degree of Chartered Life Underwriter from The American College of Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania. He entered the financial planning business in 1970 and was recently semi-retired after 46 years in this career. He was a member of East Paris Baptist Church. Mr. Ables was married April 20, 1983 to the former Regina Cuttrell.

An avid outdoorsman, he particularly loved fishing and, in his later years, enjoyed many fly fishing trips out West with several friends who were a part of his life since childhood.

He is survived by his wife, Regina, a son, Bret Aaron Ables, a daughter, Millicent Ables Kee and husband Greg, three grandchildren, Zachary Aaron Ables, Ellie Grace Ables and Amelia Noel Kee, all of Paris. He is also survived by one brother, Dr. Bob Ables and wife Sandra, of Paris, one sister, Joann Hickman and husband Donald, of Salisbury, Missouri, a stepson, Ike Wilson, of Paris and a stepdaughter, Jena Gray and husband Jeff of Culleoka, Tennessee and numerous other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant grandson Charles Thomas Kee.

A service of remembrance will be at 11:00 am Monday, May 8th at Evergreen Cemetery Pavilion with Rev. Mike Fortenberry officiating. Interment will follow.
