Michael Dean Loos, 50, passed away Saturday, February 3, 2007 at Kavanaugh House on Grand after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Quincy, Illinois to Wilford and Sharon Dee (Butler) Loos on March 13, 1956.
Mike graduated from Quincy High School and attended Southern Illinois University, Carbondale. Mike worked as an electronic technician for Broadcast Electronics and Uticor. He then worked in the broadcast field for several different radio stations before working at WQPT in Moline, Ill. Mike worked at Des Moines Area Community College for the last 12 years as a audio visual specialist.
Mike married Sandy Schwarz on April 28, 1984 in McCausland, Iowa.
Mike's loves were the times spent with his family especially watching Star Trek movies and fishing; and the time spent as a member of the Quincy Auxiliary Police Force.
Survivors include his wife, his children: James, Jessica, and Jenny all at home, sisters; Cathi Drew (Danny), Karen Shafer; brothers, Steve (Lorna), Bob Shafer; father and mother-in-law, Donald and Maxine Schwarz; sisters-in-law, Bonnie and Sharon Schwarz; brothers-in-law, Dennis and Gene (Kathy) Schwarz; Great Aunts, Jean Surhen, Marie Butler and Zola Merkel as well as several nieces and nephews.
