Ruth went to college and received her certificate for hairdresser. She became a homemaker and raised her family. She enjoyed volunteering for many organizations including the Veterans and Disabled children groups.
Ruth and her husband were avid golfers and made quite a great couple on the dance floor. Her children remember her wonderful cooking and the love their mother had for entertaining family and friends.
She is survived by her children, Kurt (Debbie), Kristine (Craig) Slansky, Konrad ( Katie) and the late Eric (2015); grandchildren, Kristen, Jeremy, Patrick, Matthew, Adam, Sara and the late Michelle; great-grandchildren, Ella, Logan, Ethan, Vera, Serenity and Kendrick. Ruth was one of 14 children and her sister, Mary Short, is the last living sibling.
She was preceded in death by Eva Dean Fisk, Louise Guckeyson, Dreyfus, Gordon, Shirly, Charles, Thomas and Frank Shepherd, Beulah Bishop, Ruby Helpinstine, Martha Gipson and Sylvia Coffee.
A private family graveside service was held at Spring Grove Cemetery, Medina.
In lieu of flowers, The family suggests memorials may be to a charity of donor's choice.
