“Thomas B. Black, father of Alden Black of this city, died at his home in Utica Wednesday morning at six o’clock of pneumonia. Mr. Black had been in failing health for the past three years.

The funeral will be held from the home Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock and interment will be made in the Utica Cemetery.

The widow and one son, Alden, and two step-children, survive. The deceased is a brother of Robert Black of this city. He had been a resident of Green township since ’69.” The Chillicothe Constitution, January 3, 1917
