Lola Mae (Schertz) Ulrich, 91, of Eureka, IL, formerly of Washburn, IL passed away at 9:00 am on Thursday, May 4, 2017 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on May 8, 1925 in Manson, Iowa to Oliver and Lavina (Horsch) Schertz. She spent her youth in Fisher, IL. She married Chris P. Ulrich on August 14, 1946 in Fisher, IL. He passed away on April 29, 2010.
Surviving are her children Stan (Willa) Ulrich of Washburn, IL, Christine DeBolt of Washington, IL, and Jeff (Joan) Ulrich of Goshen, IN; grandchildren Sarah Burrell, Anne Luchetti, Chad DeBolt, Curt DeBolt, Casey DeBolt, Brian Ulrich, and Megan Ulrich; ten great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Lola Mae was active helping her husband as bookkeeper at Ulrich Motor Co. since 1951 and active in her church, Metamora Mennonite Church, where she attended and was a member since her marriage. She loved her Lord, family, and friends. She also loved to bake, especially cinnamon rolls and coconut cream pies.
The family would like to thank Comfort Plus Hospice for their support and the loving care of her caregivers from Staff of Life.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at Metamora Mennonite Church with church ministers officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:30 pm until 7:00 pm on Monday, May 8, 2017 and also one hour prior to her funeral service on Tuesday with both at the church. Burial will be held in Roanoke Mennonite Cemetery in Eureka. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Metamora Mennonite Church or Maple Lawn Homes in Eureka, IL.
