She was born July 24, 1915, in Church Point, La. to Stella Luckett and Leo Franques.
She graduated from Saint Joseph's Academy in 1932 and later became a staff member of the Louisiana State University's Registrar's Office.
On March 9, 1941, she married Martin Dryden in Jacksonville, Fla., who preceded her in death. She also was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Howard, Leo, and John Franques; a nephew, Tom Franques; mother and father-in-law, Martin and Henrietta Dryden; a brother-in-law, Therold White; brother- and sister-in-law, Alex and Loyce Dryden.
She was of the Roman Catholic faith.
Survivors include two daughters, Ann and son-in-law, John Compton, of Springfield; Mary and son-in-law, Joseph Koenig, of Harrison, Ark.; a sister-in-law, Betty Franques; a number of nieces and nephews and a number of cousins.
Visitation with the family will be held 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 9, 2007, at the Chapel at Saint Agnes Cathedral in Springfield. The funeral mass will immediately follow at 3 p.m. in the Cathedral, under the direction of Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel, 1947 East Seminole, in Springfield.
Burial will be held next week at Green Oaks Cemetery and Mausoleum in Baton Rouge, La.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests remembrances be directed to the Martin and Mildred Dryden Memorial Fund, Saint Agnes Cathedral, 533 S. Jefferson, Springfield, Mo. 65806.
