Mrs. Summers died Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at Good Samaritan Care Center, Davenport. She passed away following a brief illness, with her family by her side.
Elizabeth Mae Evers was born November 2, 1929 in Winchester, Illinois, a daughter of George and Mabel (Martin) Evers. She was united in marriage to Leo Ladare Summers. He preceded her in death in 1984.
She retired form Ralston Purina Company after many years of service.
She was especially proud of her family; and cherished spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a Cardinals fan, and enjoyed the outdoors, gardening and feeding cardinals and gold finches. She also enjoyed trips to the Casino. Her memberships included the American Legion Auxiliary, Eldridge and the Moose and Eagles Club.
Memorials can be made to the Buffalo Volunteer Fire Department.
Those left to honor her memory include her children, Teena Fifer and Brad (Sheila) Summers, all of Buffalo, Iowa; grandchildren, Gary Fifer, Jr. (Debbie), Angie (Kris) Hutton, Heather (Tony) VanHecke, Jake Harbeck (Jennie), Lynnelle Summers (Benji), Michael and Jeremy Spiker and Jamie Brunner; 17 great grandchildren, and her brother, John (Judy) Evers and family, Carmichael, California.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, George, and a brother Sherman in infancy.
