Leslie LaVern Lewis of Medford, passed away, at home, Tuesday, May 2, 2017. He was 82.

Mr. Lewis was born in Juliustown, N.J., raised in Lumberton, N.J. and graduated from Rancocas Valley High School. He resided in Medford for the last 40 years. He honorably served his country for the United States Army, stationed in Korea. Mr. Lewis was a licensed Blue Seal Engineer and worked as a Stationary Engineer for Virtua Health System for 21 years and retired in 2012.

He loved fishing and travelling. He especially loved to document his travels with detailed scrapbooks. He loved sports. He enjoyed playing the slots in Atlantic City. He loved to socialize and was always the life of the party. He entertained his friends and family with a seemingly endless collection of humorous stories, jokes and anecdotes.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Lewis and Mary Mount; three sisters, Meritta M. Lewis, Blanche Irene Lewis, and Sarah Lewis. Surviving are his children, Lawrence Lewis and Laura Lewis; former spouse, Sandra Lewis; brother, Paul Lewis; sister, Blanche H. Mattson; grandchildren, Carynna Mott and Aiden Amaral; and nieces and nephews, Darlynn Ford, Bruce Mattson, Paul "Buster" Lewis Jr., Paulette Lewis, Lynda Lewis, Robert Lewis, and Carolyn Wirz.

A visitation will be held from noon to 2 p.m. Monday, May 8, at the Mount Laurel Home for Funerals, 212 Ark Road, Mount Laurel. Graveside service and interment will follow at Juliustown Methodist Cemetery, Springfield, N.J.
