ABINGDON, Va. Our Father in Heaven called our beautiful loving blue-eyed mother Mary Ann "Pat" Delp home on Wednesday, May 3, 2017. Oh how we will miss her! She was affectionately known to her family and friends as Nanna. Our mother was married to our father, Joe Delp for 36 years. He passed away at age 57. Before Mom's passing, she told her four daughters that our dad who is already in heaven told her to "come on, you couldn't find a prettier place". We find peace in that. Our Christian mother taught her four girls to sing acapella. Known as the Delp sisters, we performed in various venues for many years, leaving us with an experience we truly treasure. Earlier in our mother's life, she was an active member of the first Church of God, Chilhowie, where she was a Sunday school teacher and had many wonderful friends. Our mother cooked, sewed, canned, gardened, and passed her knowledge to her girls. She also owned the local fabric shop, Village fabrics, and later became a physical therapy assistant at Smyth County Community Hospital. She loved her daughters, grandchildren and great grandchildren with a passionate unconditional love. Her favorite phrase was "I love you more". We will miss her dearly. There are no words to describe the loss of our mother and grandmother. Nanna loved to travel to Cincinnati, Dallas, and Captiva, Florida. She enjoyed the beach, boat rides and hanging out with her adoring family during yearly family reunions at the beach and also at Christmas. Mom has lived with her daughter Donna for 25 years. Donna has a special heart for her loved ones, and has dedicated her life to caring for our mom. Mom loved being spoiled by all of us. She was loved immensely by her family and friends. Our family would like to thank all the friends, neighbors, doctors, nurses, and others who have helped us care for nanna frequently over the last few years and especially during this time. Our special thanks to the doctors and nurses at Johnston Memorial Hospital and Russell County hospice. Nanna is survived by her four daughters and three sons in law, JoAnne and Dr. Frank Noyes, Cincinnati, Ohio, Patty and Steve Fjordbak, Dallas, Texas, Donna Delp, Abingdon, Va., and Susan and Steve Mellinger, Glade Spring, Va.; grandchildren, Tommy and Kimberly Campbell, Cincinnati, Ohio, Nikki and Billy Snidow, Marion, Va., Dr. Christopher and Julie Goodman, Richmond, Va., Michael Fjordbak, Matthew Fjordbak, and Lauren and Chris McEndree, all of Dallas, Texas, Christina Noyes, Scottsdale, Ariz,, and Rob Noyes, Cincinnati, Ohio; great grandchildren, Joshua, Kayleigh, and Lucian Campbell, Cincinnati, Ohio, and Katelin and Ashley Baird, Scottsdale, Ariz.; and brother, Rev. Fred Harris of Saltville, Va. She is also survived by many wonderful nieces, nephews and cousins. The family will greet friends at Bradley's Funeral Chapel in Chilhowie from 1 until 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 6, 2017. Funeral services will follow the visitation. The family will have private burial services at Middle Fork Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest beside our father, Joe. Expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.bradleysfh.com. Bradley's Funeral Chapel of Chilhowie is serving the Delp family.
