Dorothy Jean Ferrara, 89, of Springfield, died at 9:20 am, Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at Sunny Acres Nursing Home in Petersburg. She was born August 21, 1927 in Springfield to Elmer and Dorothy Havenar Griffiths. She married Angelo Ferrara on December 17, 1955 and he preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death were her parents and one brother Charles Elmer Griffiths.
She was a member of St. Joseph’s Church. She was former member of the Elks Club Auxiliary, Eagles Aerie 437 Auxiliary and DAV Club Auxiliary. She retired from Friendly Chevrolet where she worked as a receptionist for 10 years.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, May 8, 2017 at Camp Butler National Cemetery with Reverend Steve Janoski officiating.
