Jackson “Big Jack” Bennett, Sr., age 82, well known and respected resident of Maysville, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, May 4, 2017, at the Care Center at Kenton Pointe, in Maysville. He was born in Maysville on March 8, 1935, to the late John and Stella Jackson Bennett. He was a graduate of Fee High School, a retired cement finisher with the Brown County Construction Company and a member of Scott United Methodist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, John A. Bennett. He is survived by: his wife of 63 years, Carol Yates Bennett; his children; Valerie (Isaac) Bennett Jones and Anthony Bennett, of Maysville, David (Brenda) Bennett, of Aberdeen, Ohio, and Kirby (Lisa) Bennett, Jackson (Paula) Bennett, Jr., and Janae Turner, of Maysville; two sisters, Peggy (Charles) Davis, of Maysville, and Edna (Vincent) Thomas, of Ghana, Ohio; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Memorial services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Monday, May 8, at the Palmer Funeral Home & Crematory, in May’s Lick, with the Rev. James Turley officiating. Interment will follow in the May’s Lick Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy are suggested to Scott United Methodist Church, c/o Marilyn Commodore, P.O. Box 135, Maysville, Kentucky 41056. The Palmer Funeral Home & Crematory, in May’s Lick, is serving the family.
