Death of Mrs. Ellen Richardson
Mrs. Ellen Richardson, widow of the late Col. William R. Richardson, passed away this morning at 2:50 o'clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. H. H. Crocker, 403 North Wilmington street. She was seventy-six years of age. She had been critically ill for about two weeks, but had been in failing health for several months. She was born in Richmond, Va., November 20, 1837, and was a daughter of the late Albert Johnson and wife. During her childhood she attended school in Petersburg, Va., and later, upon the removal of her family to North Carolina, she attended St. Mary's in this city and the Chowan Baptist institute, Murfreesboro.

Mrs. Richardson is survived by two children, Mrs. Crocker, at whose home she died, and Rev. W. C. Richardson of Chattanooga, Tenn., who arrived in Raleigh a week ago last Friday to be at her bedside. She leaves two grandchildren, Miss Mattie E. Richardson of Chattanooga and William H. Richardson of this city: also two sisters, Mrs. Joe Bellamy and Mrs. Harriet Andrews, both of this city.

The Funeral services will be conducted from the First Baptist church of which she was a member, Tuesday at 3 p.m., the pastor, Rev. T. W. O'Kelley, D. D. officiating, and the interment will be in this City Cemetery

Funeral Will Be Held This Afternoon From First Baptist Church

Mrs. Ellen Richardson , widow of the late Col. William William R. Richardson, one of Raleigh's noted news paper editors and a leading citizen,died yesterday morning, at 2:50 o'clock at the home of her daughter Mrs. H.H. Crocker,403 North Wilmington street. She was 76 years old. She had been in failing health for several months,but had been critically ill for only two weeks.
Mrs Richardson was a native of Richmond, Va., and was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Albert Johnson. In her childhood she attended school at Petersburg, and upon removal of the family to Raleigh, she attended St. Mary's school in this city and the Chowan Baptist Institute at Murfreesboro.

The pallbearers will be Messrs T.H. Briggs, J.J. Towler, Fred A. Olds, William J. Andr***, ******, and J.C. Ball.
