Michael Ray Tinkle, 18 was fatally injured in an accident at 4:20 p.m. Monday east of Belmont in Brown County.
Tinkle was a passenger in a car which was enroute east on State Road 46 at approximately 45 miles per hour when Tinkle hurled from the car according to the Indiana State Police Post in Bloomington.
Tinkle died at 6:30 p.m. in the Bloomington Hospital of a skull fracture. Details of the accident have not been released at this time and the accident is still under investigation by the Indiana State Police.
Tinkle is the son of William L. Tinkle of Shoals and Thelma Blair Tinkle of Loogootee.

Michael R. Tinkle, 18, Loogootee, 205 Bloomfield Rd. died at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the Bloomington Hospital of injuries received in a traffic related accident.
Born Sept. 20 1957, he was the son of William L. and Thelma (Blair) Tinkle. He had served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the U. S. Army Reserves.
Surviving in addition to the parents are two brothers, Roger Tinkle, Ft. Hood, Tex. and Tony Tinkle, Burban, Cal. a sister Kathy Tinkle, also of Burbank, and a grandmother, Ruth Tinkle, Shoals.
Funeral arrangements are pending at the Queen Funeral Home, Shoals.
