Ernestine "MeMaw" Griffin, 88 of Panama City Beach, passed away at her daughter's home in Hobe Sound after an extended illness. She was born in Atlanta, GA, and spent most of her life in Rome, GA, retiring to Panama City Beach in 1994. MeMaw was baptist by faith, and enjoyed reading and spending time with her family and many pets. She was preceded in death by her husband, J T Griffin, and a brother, Dennis Mathis.
Survivors include her children, Tommy Griffin of Ellijay, GA and Betty Sue Erwin (Michael) of Hobe Sound, FL; and her grandchildren, Chelsea Burns, Whitney Young and Melissa Griffin.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, May 8, 2017, at Oaknoll Memorial Gardens, Rome, GA. The family will receive friends at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel Friday, May 5, 2017, from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
