Leland E Chapman, age 83. was a long time resident of the South Bay, passed away January 29, 2007 at home in Torrance. He was born in Phillipsburg, MO. Leland had served in the Army during World War II and retired from McDonnell Douglas after over 35 years of service. He was preceded in death by his 1st wife, Kathryn and is survived by his wife, Patricia; Son, Terry, daughter, Linda Dandy , Step sons, Gary Simpson, Mark Simpson , Paul Simpson ; Step daughters, Dana Wieten, Erin Smiley, and Carrie Davis. Also survived by 15 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren and a brother Dennis Chapman. A gathering of family & friends held February 1, 2007 at the White & Day Colonial Mortuary in Redondo Beach. Funeral services were February 2, 2007 at the Pacific Crest Cemetery Chapel in Redondo Beach. Entombment followed at the cemetery.
