Shirley had a huge heart for those she loved and was happiest when her family was together. She loved fishing and spending time at the coast.
She is survived by her children, Marcia Brown and husband, Charles, Cindy Williams and husband, Dave, and Barry Bowling and wife, Julie, grandchildren, Evan Brown, Corinne Brown, Mim Williams and husband, Elliot Abrams, Carly Williams, Hunter Bowling, and Blair Bowling; great granddaughters, Layla Martin and Kestyn Martin; and sister, Betty Matthews.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph A. Bowling and brothers, J.K. Sherron Jr. and Wallace Sherron.
The family will receive friends starting at 12pm on Saturday, May 6, at Hope Lutheran Church, 3525 Rogers Road, Wake Forest, with a funeral service following at 1pm. Private burial will be at Raleigh Memorial Park, 7501 Glenwood Avenue, Raleigh.
