She attended Emmaus High School. Ruby was employed by Turkey Hill Minit Market, as a manager at their Kutztown location, for five years, and prior to that, as a clerk at their Fleetwood location, also for five years. Ruby was an avid racing fan who especially looked forward to attending the weekly Saturday night races at Grandview Speedway, Bechtelsville. Ruby enjoyed listening to the country music at Alburtis Park in the summertime, traveling to the casinos and dancing. Most importantly, Ruby was a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother, who always put her family’s needs before her own.
In addition to her Husband, Herbert; Ruby is survived by her five Children, Nathan E. Burns, Kutztown, Heather M. Burns, fiancé of Robert J. Benner, Allentown, Jeremy M. Burns, Kutztown, Joshua A., husband of Amanda S. (Leibensperger) Burns, Kutztown, and Haley N. Burns, Kutztown; 10 Grandchildren, Elijah, Makayla, Jaylin, Chevelle, Kolton, Nirvana, Layla, Aliyah, Josiah and Alyssah; and 4 Step-Grandchildren, Gabby, Alexandra, Blaze and Gavin; and a Half-Brother, Charles Reph, Allentown.
A funeral service to celebrate Ruby’s life will be held on Sunday, May 7, 2017 at 2:00 PM in Ludwick Funeral Homes, Inc., 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown, with Reverend Jane M. Kropa officiating. Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation on Sunday from 12:30 to 2:00 PM in the funeral home. Burial will be private in Longswamp Union Cemetery, Mertztown.
