CASTLEWOOD, VIRGINIA - Johnny Carson Fields Sr., 77, died Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center, Kingsport, Tennessee.

He was born in Dante, Virginia; son of the late Tivis and Bertha Poston Fields. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Alex, Billy, Fred, Jarrell, Homer, Ray, Bobby and Hershal; four sisters, Olene Taylor, Lucille Dean, Kathleen Meade and Stella Williams; and one son, Johnny Carson Fields, Jr.

He is survived by his wife Peggy Fields of Castlewood, Virginia; Debra Dale and husband, P.Dale of Lebanon, Virginia, Larry "Lemon" Fields of Kingsport, Tennessee, Gary "Fuzz" Fields and wife, Kimberly of Castlewood, Virginia, Teresa McMurray and husband, Neal of Church Hill, Tennessee, Lisa Helton and husband, Robert of Rogersville, Tennessee; one brother, Tivis Fields and wife, Patsy of Bristol, Virginia; several grandchildren; several great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Johnny Carson Fields Sr. will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. Friday, May 5, 2017 in Castlewood Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ted Bryant and Rev. Jerry Scalf officiating. Committal Services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 6, 2017 in Temple Hill Memorial Park, Castlewood, Virginia. U. M. W. A. graveside rites will be conducted. Family and Friends will meet at the funeral home and go in procession to the cemetery leaving at 10:30 a.m. Saturday. Pallbearers will be Josh Fields, Weston Fields, Shawn Helbert, Brandon Hartsock, Neal McMurray, Casey Porter and W.B. Salyers.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, May 5, 2017 in Castlewood Funeral Home, Castlewood, Virginia or anytime at the home of Debra Dale and husband P.
