Ronald H. Mohr, Savoy, formerly of Broadlands, passed away Tuesday (May 2, 2017).

Ronnie was born to Elmer W. Mohr and Lorraine (Cox) Mohr on July 6, 1936 in Urbana. He farmed, worked in the U of I Dairy Barns and was employed for several years at Yankee Ridge School in Urbana and Shiloh CUSD#1 in Hume.

Ronnie graduated from ABL High School in 1954. He graduated in 1958 from the University of Illinois with a B.S. in agriculture. He was a member of Phi Sigma Kappa Fraternity.

Ronnie married Marilyn Wilcoxon on July 14, 1957. She survives. To this union was born three children, Roger Steven (Karen) Mohr, Karen Sue (Steve) Welch and Celana Rae (Kevin) Skeith. He had eight grandchildren, Nicole Hodge, Ross (Belinda) Mohr, Amber (C.J.) Hodge, Brandy (Mark) Danner, Cameron Welch, Aubrey Welch (Carl) Clabaugh, Trevor Skeith and Valerie Skeith. He also had five great-grandchildren, Conner Hodge, Gunner and Gage Danner, Brienne Mohr and Crawford Johnson.

Ronnie was very active in the community. He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Savoy and a former member of the Broadland's Community Church of Broadlands. He was a former member of the Lions Club for 20 years, Elks Lodge No. 2497 in excess of 50 years, The Grand Lodge of Ancient, Free and Accepted Masons of Illinois for 14 years. He was an ASA umpire and IHSA State Girls' Track official for numerous years. He served as an officer for many years on both the Raymond Township Board and the St. John's Cemetery Board. He was a supporter of FFA and 4-H.

Ronnie was also a life-long Cubs fan and was so excited when they won the World Series. He loved NASCAR, was a Fighting Illini fan and was once secretary of the Quarterback Club.

Ronnie and his wife, Marilyn, belonged to the Champaign Sportsman's Club for many years and enjoyed camping there. They also spent 15 years camping and wintering in Florida.

The joy of Ronnie's life was watching his children, grandchildren and great-grandson participate in sports.
