Joseph C. “Mike” Becker, Jr., age 79, of Aspers, PA died Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at the Gettysburg Hospital.

Born August 5, 1937 in Gettysburg, PA he was the son of the late Joseph C. & Margaret (Sadler) Becker, Sr. Mike is survived by his wife of 60 years, Lillian L. (Bretzman) Becker.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, owned and operated the Biglerville Garage for many years and most recently worked at the former Inland Container Co. in Biglerville, PA for 25 years before his retirement. Mike served as the Pace-Truck driver at Lincoln Speedway for 40 years and Pace-Car driver at Williams Grove Speedway for the past 15 years and was a member of the York County Racing Club and had been inducted into their Hall of Fame in 2013. He was a member of the Biglerville American Legion Post #262, the Gettysburg Eagles and the Latimore Valley Oldtimers Club.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Deborah K. Hiatt and husband Lester of Blackfoot, ID and Tracey S. Snider and husband Rick of Port Charlotte, FL, a son, Joseph C. Becker, III and wife Erin of Biglerville, PA, two great grandchildren; Hannah and Autumn, two sisters; Anna Garrett of Chambersburg, PA and Mary Hiles of Minnesota and two brothers; Charles Becker of New Smyrna Beach, FL and Robert Becker of Connecticut. Mike was predeceased by his granddaughter, Jennifer Vaughn.

Following funeral services in Gettysburg with Fr. Daniel Mitzel, officiating, interment with full military honors provided by the Adams County Allied Veterans will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Gettysburg.
