She was born April 9th,1935 to the late Ervin Roosevelt and Cretia Marie Dodson Richardson. She was the sixth of twelve children in that family and is survived by only two of her siblings, Carl Reed Richardson and Phyllis Emilee Southwood. Goldie fell in love with Joe Fred Cooper and became his devoted wife on December 20th, 1952 and to this union, two daughters were born, Debra Jo Larian and Connie Lynn Cummings.
She is also survived by one brother: Carl Reed Richardson, one sister; Phyllis Emilee Southwood, four grandchildren; Dwayne, Stephen, Lucas, and Nika, and five great grandchildren; Amanda, Amara, Keith, Carlie, and David.
Along with her loving husband, she was preceded in death by five brothers; Virgil Richardson, Stanley Richardson, Romer Richardson, Ronald Richardson, Lonnie Richardson, four sisters; Barbara Bridgeman, June Barton, Ina Frost, Lucille Kidd, and one great grandchild; Cassandra.
Goldie had accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior many years ago and was a member of the Spann Hill Baptist Church. She was devoted to her family and church and was always ready to help and support them in any way she could. We will all miss her dearly.
The family will receive friends on Thursday. November 4th between 5PM and 8PM in the chapel of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Friday, November 5th, at 11AM in the Hickey Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Elk Springs Cemetery.
The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Spann Hill Baptist Church.
