Karen (Smokey) Ford
1941-2017

Karen (Smokey) Ford, 75, passed away on May 1, 2017. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Mario Galento Boyette, her second husband, Joseph P. Ford and her brother-in-law Robert Wayne Boyette. She is survived by her children, Karen, Tayna, Mario, Jr., DJauna, Mario II Boyette, Joe (Donna), Dottie, Peggy, Steve, Lori and Sean. She is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Early in life, she was a professional wrestler, travelling the southeast circuit with her first husband, Mario Galento. Later, she became a teacher's aide at Sherwood Elementary. In her retirement, she enjoyed spending time with Joe and family. She rescued many strays and a greyhound. She was a caregiver for Wayne for 40 years. The family would like to thank the CCU nursing staff at West Florida Hospital for the nurturing and care of Mrs. Ford.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation on Thursday, May 4, 2017 from 10-11:00 a.m. at Myrtle Grove United Methodist Church, immediately followed by a service, officiated by Pastor Riley Richardson.
Burial will take place at Wells Chapel in New Albany, Mississippi at a later date, Pastor Penny Ford.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Eastern Gate Memorial Funeral Home.
