Marvin E. Cooper, 83, of Rockford, Illinois, passed away on Monday, May 1, 2017, in his home. He was born January 8, 1934, in Monroe City, Indiana, the son of Edward and Lola (Berry) Cooper.

Marvin served in the United States Army. He married Darlene Geiger on October 7, 1961 in Lindenwood, Illinois.

Marvin was employed with Elco Industries for 36 years. He was an active member at Redeemer Lutheran Church and volunteer at Klehm Arboretum.

He is survived by: his wife, Darlene; daughters, Penny (Douglas) Kinninger and Christine (Michael) Dal Pra; grandchildren, Thomas, Nicholas, Zachary Dal Pra, Dane, Keaton, and Harper Kinninger; and sister, Carol (Tom) Whitehead.

Predeceased by: parents; brothers, Gerald, Keith, Eldon and Ted; and sister, Norma Bacher.

Funeral service on Saturday, May 6, 2017, at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Rockford. Private burial in Arlington Memorial Park.
