Helen E. Chapman, 77, of Milton passed away Friday, January 5, 2007 in Hubbard Hospice House, Charleston. Funeral service will be conducted 11 AM, Monday, January 8, 2007 at Heck Funeral Home, Milton with Rev. Tracy Mills officiating. Entombment will follow in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Mausoleum. She was born May 8, 1929 a daughter of the late Clifton and Eva Morris Nicholas. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Claude Evert Chapman; son-in-law, Dennis Dean. She was a retired postal clerk from the United States Postal Service and a member of Union Baptist Church. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Milton Chapter 149, past Orderly Matron and Grand Representative to Minnesota and West Virginia. She was still young at heart, always on the go with her friends and joining in the Senior Exercise Class in Barboursville. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Evert and Dianna Chapman of Hurricane; two daughters, Jo Ellen Dean of Pinch, WV and Deborah Chapman of South Charleston, WV; two granddaughters, Hillary Lynn Dean and Carly Jo Dean; brother and sister-in-law Bernard and Janet Nicholas. Friends may call from 6 to 8 PM on Sunday, January 7, 2007 at Heck Funeral Home, Milton. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.heckfuneralhome.com. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hubbard Hospice House, 1001 Kennawa Dr., Charleston, WV 25311.
