David Vanness Brandon of Farmers Branch, Texas passed away on Monday, December 19, 2016 at the age of 68.

David V. Brandon of Dallas, Texas, formally of Tunkhannock, passed away Dec. 19, 2016. David was employed as a Senior Vice President of Site Selection Group, managing the company's industrial and economic development business practices. He was a recognized national expert in the areas of location advisory, labor analysis, economic adjustment, reuse of military bases and project marketing. He received a master's degree in economics from the University of Delaware, a bachelor's degree in business from Wilkes University and a bachelor's degree in finance from the University of Pennsylvania.
David was previously a senior vice president and principal of the Pathfinders, an economic development advisory firm. He was an industry veteran who had a profound effect on those whom he came in contact with. His public service culminated in his leadership of two state economic development organizations, Delaware and Texas respectively. Throughout his career, he completed more than 1,000 economic development and corporate location advisory projects for clients, including AIG Insurance, Boeing, Lockheed Martin and UPS.
David was a graduate of TAHS class of 1966 and was in the National Athletic Scholarship Society. He was First Team All-Scholastic in 1965 as a center and in 1964 was Honorable Mention.
David was a member of both the football and baseball teams lettering four years in football and two years in baseball. He was a member of the Weight-lifting Club in High School and was voted 'Most likely to succeed.' David was a Boy Scout and obtained the rank of Life Scout.
Those who knew David will miss his keen intelligence, quick wit, undeniable sense of humor, and booming voice.
David was preceded in death by his wife Sarah in 2014 and by his mother Arlene 'Bunny' VanNess.
Memorial donations in David's name may be made to the Coach Charles Shaw Scholarship Fund, c/o Rob Shaw, 215 Dickinson Ave., Camp Hill, PA 17011.
