Martha Ann Goertz, 78, loving wife and mother, joined the Good Lord on April 28, 2017, passing peacefully at home.
She was preceded by her husband of fifty-three years, Phillip, and survived by her sons Jeffrey, Ronald and his wife Carrie and their children John and Jennifer, Steven and his wife Deanna and their children Brandi, Lindsay and her children Joey and Phillip, Kelsey, Danielle, Cali, and Anna, and daughter Trudy.
Marty was born on July 17, 1938 in Cleveland, Ohio. She married Phil on May 10, 1958 and began her journey as a military wife traveling with her husband, holding down the household when Phil was overseas, and masterfully raising four children.
She received an Associate's Degree from the University of Akron. When Phil retired from the military and the kids were grown, Marty worked for the Boy Scouts of America in Seattle, Bellingham, and Everett.
Marty had many fur-babies that she loved. Her cats provided her with tremendous enjoyment, entertainment, and love. One of them was lying on her when she passed.
She had many hobbies, including a love of weeding her gardens and flower beds. She loved collecting sewing machines, crocheting, knitting, quilting, reading, and playing on the computer.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Humane Society of Skagit County where she rescued many of her beloved cats.
A memorial Mass will be held Friday, May 5, 2017, 11:00 am, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic
