Lawrence Eagle the son of Jim and Maude (Flynn) Eagle was born March 4, 1941 in Adair County and departed this life at his home surrounded by his family on May 3, 2017 at the age of 76 years, 1 month and 28 days.

Lawrence was a man of the Lord and devoted his life to His service. He married the love of his life Emma Lou Daugherty on July 17, 1963. Lawrence pastored Salem Baptist Church for over 32 years. The day after his ordination he led his first Lord's Supper Service and Baptism. During his life of service to the Lord he became a prayer warrior and would sometimes run late for Thanksgiving dinner because someone needed prayer. He prayed for many people, some would call, some would come by day or night and Lawrence would pray. He enjoyed going to the Nursing Home and singing; he loved to sing. He was a hard worker and enjoyed being outdoors cutting wood. He would often cut several ricks of wood and just give it to people who needed it. He had a very giving heart and would help anyone in need. He enjoyed watching westerns and riding four-wheelers with some of his close friends. Lawrence loved his family, but he had a special love for his grandchildren. Lawrence touched many lives over the years and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his son Mike Eagle; his brothers Sonny Eagle, Butch Eagle, and Garland Eagle; his sister Daisy Eagle and his granddaughter Michal Eagle and Phil and Pearl Shanklin, who raised him from the age of 14.

He is survived by a loving family which includes his wife of over 53 years Emma Lou Eagle; his children Steven Eagle and wife Tami of Stilwell, Pam Turtle and husband Mike of Tahlequah, and Tresa Eagle of Stilwell; his daughter-in-law Erica Eagle of Stilwell; his brother Stoney Eagle and wife Louann of Stilwell; his sisters Christine Felling and husband Durbin of Tahlequah, Lois Littlejohn and husband Ronnie of Stilwell, Delores Missner of Stilwell and Dorothy Foster and husband Charles of Tahlequah; 12 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Many nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives also survive him.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday May 8, 2017 at the New Life Church with Bro. Donny Sanders, Bro. Gary Hawkins, Bro. Ledke McIntosh, Bro. Richard Pickup, Bro. Phil Lawrence and Bro. Max Ford officiating. Interment will follow in the Preacher Lane Cemetery under the care and direction of Hart Funeral Home of Stilwell.
