Harold D. Brown

Nickerson - Harold D. Brown, 70, died Sept. 25, 2000, at his home in Nickerson.

He was born Oct. 10, 1929, at Ness City, the son of Harry K. and Ida M. Likes Brown. He was a graduate of Hutchinson High School. A Nickerson resident since 1954, moving from South Hutchinson, He was the retired owner of an oil-drilling company.

He belonged to First Christian Church, Hutchinson, and was a Who's Who of American Inventors.

On May 16, 1947, he married Beverly White at Partridge. She died Nov. 12, 1997.

Survivors include: four sons, Larry, Edna, Dale, Nickerson, Mark, Woodward, Okla., and Todd, Salina; eight daughters, Judy Niehoff, Janet Brown, Brenda Brown, Debra Palmer and Terri Proffitt, all of Nickerson, Susan Adkins, Topeka, Annabel Stewart, South Hutchinson, Lori Olson, Leander, Texas; a brother, Gerald, Hutchinson; a sister, Dorothy Rogers, Hubbard, Ohio; 18 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Partridge Cemetery, with Paster Melvin Walton presiding. Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, both at Johnson & Sons Funeral Home, Hutchinson.

Memorials may be sent to the American Diabetes Association, in care of the funeral home.
