Neil LeRoy Robinson, 80, of Scottsbluff, died December 15, 2016 at Regional West Medical Center.

Neil was born May 9, 1936 at Wessington Springs, South Dakota to Herbert B. and Vira Mae (Hanson) Robinson.

He received his education in Wessington Springs and was proud to be a member of the undefeated football team. He served his country in the United States Army from January 18, 1955 until his honorable discharge on January 16, 1958.

He settled in the Kimball area and met Betty Lou Bauer. They were married on December 15, 1958 and to this union four children were born: Vira, Merna, Edward, and Jason.

Neil worked in the oil fields in the Kimball area, in Tripoli Libya, and Saudi Arabia. He returned home and started his bee keeping business, sold Christmas trees, and started a tree plantation and tree service. He retired three years ago.

Neil was a member of the New Beginnings Church of the Nazarene. He was a hardworking man who provided well for his family. He had lots of wisdom that he passed on to his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife, children, seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson, a sister and nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Neil was preceded in death by his parents, son Jason Robinson, granddaughter Alejandra Leal, four brothers, and one sister.

His funeral service will be held at 10 AM on Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at New Beginnings Church of the Nazarene with Reverend Cliff Transmeier officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Scottsbluff. Visitation will be held from 1-6 PM on Monday at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel.
