British Bare-Knuckle Boxing Champion (circa 1803 to 1805). After consolidating his right to call himself Champion by defeating a one-eyed Jem Belcher in 1805, he never fought again. At his own request he was buried alongside his best friend and fellow boxer Bill Warr. He was elected to the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 1993.
