Isaac H McCalla

Lowndesville, Sept 11 - I H McCalla died Tuesday morning at his home near here. It was not unexpected by his family and many friends. He suffered from paralysis of several years, and while he could not talk or walk much, he was able, until recently, to ride out and look after his extensive interests and meet his neighbors with his accustomed geniality and good cheer.

Isaac McCalla was no ordinary man. He looked death in the face for weeks, months and years without flinching. ...... He represented Abbeville in the house and also in the State Senate for several years. His ambition was to go to Congress, but he was disappointed.

A wife, one daughter and 2 sons survive him.
