LIVINGSTON ENTERPRISE - THURSDAY, JUNE 28, 2007

Don W. Sims, 65, of Livingston, died Tuesday morning, June 26, 1007, at Bozeman Deaconess Hospital after a lengthy illness. Don was born on January 31, 1942, in Kemmerer, Wyoming, the son of Newt and Minnie (Bearden) Sims. He was raised on the family ranch near LaBarge, Wyoming and attended Wasatch Academy in Mt. Pleasant, Utah.

While in Utah he met his future wife, Helen "Rickie" "Gretchen" Hoffman. They were married on September 10, 1963 in Springville, Utah. Upon completion of her nurse's training, the couple moved to their new ranch at the head of Smith Creek near Wilsall, Montana and lived there for the next 15 years. During that time, Don helped in raising three of his wife's nephews and commuted to Livingston to work as a rock crusher operator for Park County. When their ranch sold in the late 1970's, they moved into Livingston, where he lived until his death.

Don loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing and hunting while on the ranch and, in town, he enjoyed gardening and yard work.

He is survived by his wife; two cousins; three nephews on his wife's side; 12 grand-nieces and nephews and several great-grand-nieces and nephews.

Don was preceded is death by his parents, Newt and Minnie (Bearden) Sims and a brother, James William Sims.

We loved him dearly, and he will be sorely missed.

Cremation has taken place at Franzen Davis Crematory in Livingston. A memorial service time and location will be announced at a later date.

If so desired, memorials may be directed to the Billings Arthritis Foundation.
