PITTSFIELD -- Mrs. Edith May Mooers, 71, formerly of Gardiner, died Friday in Sabasticook Valley Hospital here following a short illness.
She was the widow of Walter F. Mooers.
Mrs. Mooers was born in Alna, Sept. 16, 1894, the daughter of Andrew and Percis Quinn Leighton.
Before moving to Pittsfield, Mrs. Mooers lived in Gardiner and vicinity.
She was a member of Eureka Rebekah Lodge, Gardiner; and Cobbosseecontee Grange, West Gardiner.
Survivors include two sons, Walter F. Mooers of Manchester and Richard Mooers of Sanbornton, NH; four daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Sawyer of Sanbornton, NH, Mrs. Alice Pushard of Gardiner, Mrs. Eleanor Herson of Pittston, and Mrs. Clara Jane Poulin of Pittsfield; a brother Patrick Leighton of Alna; two sisters, Miss Clara I Fowles of Haddon Field, NJ and Mrs. Jennie Carleton of Pittston, 16 grand children, five greatgrandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. at 39 Washington Ave., Gardiner.

GARDINER - Services for Mrs. Edith May Mooer of Pittsfield were conducted Sunday from 39 Washington Ave. The Rev. William A. Dunstan, pastor of the Fire Baptist Church, officiated.
Bearer were Carroll Hersom Jr., Robert Hersom, John Sawyer, Jr., and Rohme Dunn.
Burial was in Maple Grove Cemetery, Randolph.

Edith was married first to Walter Franklin Mooers ain June of 1913 and second to Frank B Collins Feb 1928. With her 2nd husband she had 5 children: Charlene, Clayton, Douglas, Dennis and David Collins
