Born on July 17, 1960 in Mitchell County, he was the son of the late H. W. McKinney. Kenneth was a member of the Berry Chapel Baptist Church.
Kenneth loved bluegrass music; all sports, particularly NASCAR racing and playing pool. He was a very kind hearted person and will be missed by all that knew him.
Left to cherish his memories are his mother; Wanda Bennett of Spruce Pine; his brother; Roger McKinney and wife, Jill of Baltimore, MD; his sister, Angela Banner of Newland; and his nieces; Cassandra Calloway and husband, Steven of Indian Land, NC; Jessica Huff and husband, Daniel of Raleigh; Kim McKinney of Nashville, TN and Kelly McKinney of Columbia, SC.
The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence at the funeral service honoring the life of Kenneth McKinney on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at 2:00 pm at the Berry Chapel Baptist Church with the Rev’s. Steve Williams and Greg Hollifield officiating. A time to support the family, share memories and receive friends will be on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 from 1:00 pm until the service hour at the church. Burial will be in the Berry Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery.
