Rebecca Scobey Austin, 84 of Newbern, Tennessee died on Saturday, April 29, 2017, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, Tennessee.
Born Saturday, March 11, 1933 in Dyer County, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Willie "Bill" Scobey and the late Lessie Fitzgerald Scobey. Mrs. Austin was a retired bookkeeper for Tigrett and Shibley Insurors and was a member of Palestine Cumberland Presbyterian Church and attended Bethlehem Cumberland Presbyterian Church where she served as an Elder.

She is survived by two sons,one brother, and four grandchildren
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Wade Austin and two brothers, Johnny Scobey and Glen M. Scobey.
