Charles Gordon Spriggs, son of the late C. O. and Cora M. Spriggs, was born June 1, 1906 at Stout ( formerly Rome ), Ohio, in Adams County, and passed away April 24, 1973 at Huntington, W. Va. He was a C & O employee, having worked some 30 years. He was in World War II, having spent much time in New Guiana with the Radio and Signal Corps. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife , Eva Black Spriggs, three daughters, Judy, May, and Sandy, one son, Bobby Guy, and three grandchildren, also the following brothers and sisters; C. S. Spriggs, Garrison, Guy H. Spriggs of St. Petersburg, Florida, Paul O. Spriggs of Huntington, Mrs Gladys Cogan, Concord, Kentucky, Meryl Rupe, Blue Ash, Ohio, Ethel Vance of Vanceburg, Mrs Alma E. Moffett, Lexington, Kentucky, Mrs Ruth Stone, Monroe,Michigan, and Violet Copeland, Lexington, Kentucky.
Charles Gordon had been a resident of Lewis County for many years.
