Born in St. Louis, Missouri, Jackie graduated in 1967 from Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Lowa with a major in social work. She pursued her passion for helping others in need as a social worker, parole officer, drug counselor and per- trail intervention counselor.
She retired as the Executive Director of Reentry Ministries in Birmingham that assisted individuals with transition incarceration to life on the outside.
Jackie was preceded in death by her parents, Chauncey and Maurine Baldwin of St. Louis and her beloved husband Hank Gray.
She is survived by her daughters Pam Escarcega, Malinda Armstrong, and Elizabeth Armstrong ; her sister Pat Christopher; her three grandchildren Brandon, Amanda, and Crystal and six great grandchildren.
Service will be held at Faith Memorial Chapel 9012 Parkway East Birmingham, Al. 35206 , on Sat May 6, 2017 at 2 p.m. The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, May 5, 2017. Burial at Jefferson Memorial Gardens.
