She was born March 29, 1939, in Forsyth County, a daughter of Elbert Lee and Claudia Blackwell Joyce.
She was employed with Brown & Williamson Tobacco Co. in Winston-Salem. She was a member of Abbotts Creek Missionary Baptist Church and the Helping Hands Sunday School Class.
She was married Feb. 7, 1959, to John Wesley Beeson, who survives of the home. Also surviving are a son, Donnie Ray Beeson of High Point; a grandson, Kyle Ray Beeson; four sisters, Mrs. Emma Witcher of Walnut Cove, Mrs. Mary Moore of High Point, and Mrs. Frances Lemar and Mrs. Garline Cole, both of Kernersville; and four brothers, David, Bill, Mike and Wade Joyce, all of Kernersville. She was preceded in death by two sisters and five brothers.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Abbotts Creek Missionary Baptist Church by the Rev. Mark Hollar and the Rev. Jack Rose. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body will remain at J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home Wallburg Chapel (10301 N. N.C. Highway 109) until placed in the church 30 minutes before the service. The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday
