Obituary of Edwin Cox

Edwin "Ed" J. Cox, 67, died in his Marion residence at 11:55 a.m. on Tuesday, April 25, 2017. He was born in Courtland, Alabama, to Woodsey and Mary Jane (Beavers) Cox. He married Nancy Huffman on November 22, 1969, and she survives.

Ed was a truck driver with Hiner Transport Trucking Company. He was a huge NASCAR and Miami Dolphins fan. Most of all, though, he loved spending time with his grandchildren and family.

He will be missed by his children, Tammy J. Cox, Marion, Kayla (Adam) Alva, Kokomo, David (Marisol) Sherron, Marion, Chris (Alexis) Sherron, Marion, and Dustin Cox, Kokomo; sisters, Rhunae Lovelady and Joyce (Tommy) Lovelady, both from Alabama; brothers, Wayne and Junior Lovelady, both from Marion, and Bill Lovelady, Alabama; 12 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; cousin, Jack Colburn; and his dogs, Chico and Gizmo.

Preceding him in death were his parents; great-grandson, Caiden Cox; great-granddaughter, Aubrella Cox; and brothers, David and Elbert Cox.

The family will have a memorial visitation from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 3, 2017, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.
