The angels called and took Deborah Jean "Debbie" Salmon Koch of Roanoke to see Jesus on Thursday, February 8, 2007 at age 54. She was preceded in death by her father, Shirley Eugene (Gene) Salmon and her mother, Barbara Chilton Salmon Ramsey and nephew, Brian (Bunkie) Smith. She was an exceptionally gifted photographer with a gentle Christian spirit. Debbie leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband, Timothy (Tim) Koch; two sisters, Rebecca (Willis) Smith of Roanoke and Dana M. Ramsey of Charlottesville; two brothers, Brian (Lisa) Salmon of North Carolina and Keith (Michelle) Salmon of Tennessee. Also surviving is her extended family, father, Daniel Ramsey of Arkansas and mother, Ann Layne Salmon of North Carolina; father-in-law, Frank Koch of Roanoke; mother-in-law, Shelby (Morris) St. Clair of Roanoke; sister-in-law, Melissa Koch of Roanoke; brother-in-law, Jamie (Michelle) Koch of Kentucky; 11 nieces and nephews, seven great-nieces and nephews, and many aunts, uncles and cousins. A service celebrating Debbie's life will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, February 12, 2007 at the Roanoke Chapel of Lotz Funeral Home on Franklin Road, officiated by the Rev. Daniel R. Salmon, a special uncle from King, N.C. Interment will follow at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends Sunday, February 11, 2007 at the funeral home from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m.
