Shirley Arlene Dykhuis was born on December 19, 1938, in Marion County, north of Pella, Iowa. Shirley graduated from Pella High School with the Class of 1956.
On November 18, 1967, she and Kenneth Ray Van Rees were united in marriage at Pella.
Monday afternoon, July 14, 2014, she passed away at the Hospice of Pella Comfort House at the age of 75 years.
Shirley was baptized and made profession of her faith at the First Reformed Church in Pella
Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Van Rees; her parents, Andrew and Gora (Steenhoek) Dykhuis; her brother, Arnold G. Dykhuis and his wife, Geraldine (Geri) M. (Veldhuizen); two brothers-in-law: Glenn Klein and Earl Boyd; and two sisters-in-law: Ruth Van Rees and Ardis (Robert) Klyn.
Shirley had a love for dogs and will be remembered for her fantastic memory.
