Velma Faye Cole of Birdtown, Arkansas, passed away Saturday, April 29, 2017 at the age of 90. She had battled Alzheimers for many years. She was a member of the Cedar Creek Missionary Baptist Church for over 50 years.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and David Huddleston; a granddaughter and family, Teresa and Shannon Scroggins and great-grandsons Ben, Timothy, and Wesley Scroggins; and a sister and brother-in-law Estelle and Glen Sledge.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Cole; her father and mother, Marley and Dora Harrington; brothers, Carl Harrington and Luther Massey; and sisters, Marvelle Welch, Allie Welch, and Christine Joslin.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 2, at Harris Chapel. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Kilgore Cemetery.
