Son of the late Norman T. Sr. & Sarah Abbott Robinson, Norman was a 1932 graduate of Woodstown High School. Following high school, he worked on the family dairy farm. In 1943, he started his insurance agency, and in 1967, he and his wife opened Four Seasons Campground. Starting with 15 campsites, it has grown to over 500 sites with four generations of family operation. Norman was very active in the community. He was a lifetime member of Pittsgrove Baptist Church and a member of the Elmer Grange since 1930, where he served as a past master. He had served as deputy of the Salem County Grange for 7 years, treasurer of the NJ State Grange for 8 years, and secretary of the NJ State Grange for 30 years. He was also the founder and charter scout master of the Daretown Boy Scout Troop No. 60 in 1943, and later became the chairman of the South Jersey Boy Scout Camping committee. He was a member and past president of the Rotary Club of Woodstown. He spent many summers at Joe's Pond in West Danville, VT, and he was active in the West Danville United Methodist Church and the Rotary Club of St. Johnsbury, VT.
Norman is survived by his wife of 25 years, Charlotte M. Black Robinson; his son & daughter-in-law, John A. "Jack" & Libby Robinson; his grandson, John A. Robinson, II; his granddaughter, Carol Evans; and his great-grandchildren, Johnny and Katie Robinson, and Benjamin and Abigail Evans.
He was predeceased by his wife of 53 years, Rose McGowan Robinson, in July of 1990.
Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon on Tuesday, May 2nd in the Pittsgrove Baptist Church, 368 Daretown Rd., Daretown, where friends are invited to visit from 10 AM until the time of service. Burial will follow the church service in the church cemetery.
